Cardiac/Thoracic Surgical ICU Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced ICU nurse for its cardiac/thoracic surgical unit. This is a 13-week contract role working 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), 48 hours per week, with every-other-weekend rotation. If working through winter holidays, two holiday shifts are required.
Clinical Scope
You'll provide care for post-cardiac and thoracic surgical patients in a high-acuity setting. Experience with advanced cardiac support devices—including IABP and IMPELLA—is essential. You'll float between the ICU and IMCU as patient needs dictate.
Requirements
- 2+ years of ICU nursing experience in a similar cardiac/thoracic surgical setting
- Current CT surgery experience required
- BLS-AHA and ACLS-AHA certifications (required)
- Proficiency with the facility's electronic health record system
- Must be separated from previous employer for 6+ months to be considered
