Neuro Med/Surg RN | Nashville, TN | Night Shift | 13-Week Contract
This opportunity is on a Neuro Med/Surg unit in Nashville, TN, caring for neurological and medical-surgical patients. The unit emphasizes attentive, patient- and family-centered care, including bedside shift report and collaborative care planning.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Two weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
Unit Details
- Tech support available on both day and night shifts
- Unit secretary coverage during day hours
- Contract staff float first; rotation applies when multiple contract staff are scheduled
Required Skills & Experience
- Med/Surg clinical experience
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- IV insertion, basic wound care
- Maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
Required Credentials
- Active RN license
- BLS certification
Dress Code
- Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
Clinical Environment
The unit manages a diverse neurological and medical-surgical patient population, with access to telemetry monitoring, feeding pumps, PCA pumps, continuous pulse oximetry, EKG capability, and bladder scanning. The facility holds certifications in comprehensive stroke care and chest pain management.
