Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Location: San Antonio, TX
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
About the Role
Join a fast-paced emergency department managing a high volume of acuity-based patients across 48 treatment areas. You'll deliver immediate, critical care in a collaborative team environment where every clinician pitches in to support one another.
What You'll Do
- Perform rapid patient assessments and recognize changes in condition
- Manage moderate sedation, RSI, and resuscitation
- Establish IV/IO access, perform EKGs, administer blood products and TNK
- Lead cardiac, stroke, trauma, and sepsis workups
- Provide emergency stabilization and monitoring in a high-acuity setting
What We're Looking For
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Self-motivated team player mentality
- Trauma experience at a Level 1 or 2 facility preferred
- 2+ years high-volume ED experience preferred
Required Certifications
TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, BLS, CPI
Unit Details
- Acuity-based patient ratios
- Navy scrubs
- Shift begins 15 minutes early for huddle and patient assumption
- Full 30–34 minute lunch break required each shift
- No food, drink, or personal bags in patient care areas
