Registered Nurse – Psychiatric Inpatient Unit

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its psychiatric inpatient team on the evening shift (3 PM–11:30 PM). This is a full-time, 40-hour position with every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday rotation. Charge nurse duties are included.

About the Role

You'll provide direct and indirect care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients in a therapeutic psychiatric setting. Working as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary treatment team, you'll help develop, implement, and document individualized treatment plans grounded in trauma-informed, recovery-focused care. Your responsibilities include maintaining a safe therapeutic environment, crisis de-escalation, and supporting patients with psychiatric and substance use challenges.

Required Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN license
• Minimum 3 years of adult, adolescent, and geriatric inpatient psychiatric experience
• Current CPR certification
• Willingness to float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
• Strong crisis management and de-escalation skills
• Solid electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency
• Ability to work calmly and professionally in high-stress situations

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree
• Restraint reduction and crisis intervention training
• Experience with evidence-based behavioral health and substance abuse treatment modalities

Contract Details

• 13-week assignment
