Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Louisville, KY
Schedule: First shift, 4 x 10-hour days
Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role
The facility's operating room is seeking an experienced RN to provide circulating and/or scrub nursing support across a variety of general surgical procedures, including general surgery, orthopedic, gynecology, urology, and ENT cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre-operative assessments; verify surgical site, consent, and procedure per protocol
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and equipment for surgical cases
- Function in both circulating and scrub roles as needed
- Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts before, during, and after procedures
- Monitor patient status and safety throughout surgical procedures
- Manage supplies, equipment, and instrumentation to ensure availability and proper function
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical team to ensure smooth case flow
- Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and post-operative handoff to PACU
- Document intraoperative care accurately, including counts, medications, and patient status
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- 1+ years of general OR experience required
- Ability to function in both circulating and scrub roles across multiple surgical specialties
- ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- CNOR certification
- Previous OR experience
