Operating Room Registered Nurse
Position Overview
The facility's Operating Room is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll work Monday–Friday, 10:30 AM–7:00 PM, providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care in a busy surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, prioritizing safety and optimal outcomes
- Perform circulating nurse duties: monitor patient status, document care accurately, and maintain clear communication with the surgical team
- Provide scrub nurse support: maintain sterile technique, prepare instruments, and assist surgeons
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and support efficient surgical workflows
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification within 6 months of hire (AHA or American Red Cross)
- BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire (AHA or American Red Cross)
- Diploma from an accredited nursing school or equivalent professional licensure at hire
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of Operating Room RN experience
- Pediatric OR experience a plus
Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours: 40 guaranteed per week
- Monday–Friday schedule
