Registered Nurse – Telemetry
About the Role
Join the telemetry unit at the facility in Louisville, KY. You'll provide continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing care to patients with acute cardiac and other conditions. This role requires strong assessment skills, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and the ability to respond quickly to patient changes and code situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously; identify and escalate arrhythmias and abnormal findings
- Administer cardiac medications, including drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
- Assess patients and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team on patient care plans
- Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, treatment, and lifestyle modifications
- Participate in rapid response and code interventions as needed
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
- Manage a typical patient load according to unit acuity and staffing guidelines
- Follow infection control and fall prevention protocols
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate's degree (ADN) accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- 1+ years of telemetry experience with demonstrated competency in EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm monitoring
- Experience managing cardiac medications and monitoring cardiac patients
- 2+ years of acute care nursing experience
Shift & Contract Details
- Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Days: Every other weekend
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 4, 2026
