Cardiac ICU — Travel RN | Night Shift | Columbia, SC

Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: October 5, 2026

This Cardiac ICU position requires strong CVICU or CCU experience. The unit manages high-acuity adult cardiac and medical intensive care patients, including step-down overflow, and regularly cares for patients on advanced cardiac support devices.

Clinical Scope & Patient Population

• Advanced cardiac device management: LVAD, Impella, IABP, temporary ventricular pacing
• Hemodynamic monitoring, invasive line management, CRRT, and ventilator management
• Pre/post cardiac cath and intervention; post cardiac surgery (not direct from OR)
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips; arterial and central line management
• ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Required Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience (CVICU or strong CCU/Cardiopulmonary ICU required)
• 1 year of recent electronic health record experience required

Scheduling Details

• Float requirement: ICU and Cardiac Telemetry units (qualified units only)
• Weekend coverage required
• Standby call; no call pay
• Self-scheduling
• One pre-approved time off request honored
• Orientation: 72 hours (begins Mondays)
• Pre-assignment modules required within 48 hours of login; up to 16 hours reimbursable

• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Candidates must meet minimum distance requirements from the facility to be eligible
