Clinical Pharmacist

Location: Visalia, CA

Shift & Duration:

  • Day 4x10-Hour (07:00–17:00) or Mid 4x10-Hour (13:00–23:00)
  • 13-week contract
  • Start: September 21, 2026

Required Qualifications:

  • Current California Registered Pharmacist license
  • Pharm.D. degree
  • PGY-1 residency completion OR 2+ years of clinical hospital pharmacist experience
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Specialist Tracks Available:

Depending on assignment, you may specialize in:

  • Emergency Medicine (requires 1+ year ED pharmacy or critical care experience)
  • Infectious Disease (requires 1+ year hospital-based clinical experience)
  • Critical Care Medicine (requires 1+ year critical care pharmacy experience)
  • Ambulatory Care (requires 1+ year ambulatory experience or board certification eligibility)
  • Family Medicine (preferred: PGY-1 General Practice, PGY-2 Ambulatory Care, and BCPS/BCACP/CGP)
  • Home Infusion (requires 1+ year home infusion experience or 5+ years home infusion pharmacy background)
  • Outpatient Oncology (preferred: PGY-1 residency with oncology focus)

Key Responsibilities:

Inpatient: Review medication orders for appropriateness, validate and dispense medications, consult with providers on therapy optimization, train pharmacy staff, participate in patient care rounds, and respond to emergency alerts.

Outpatient: Review prescriptions, provide patient education and medication therapy management, collaborate on care coordination, and monitor patient outcomes.

Additional duties may include compounding quality oversight, formulary management, inventory management, and nursing station inspections per regulatory standards.
