Travel RN – Medical/Surgical Telemetry | Night Shift | Maryville, TN
This 13-week night shift contract places you on a busy Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with general medical diagnoses, pre- and post-operative needs, and post-cardiac catheterization recovery.
Shift & Schedule
- 3x12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required (schedule subject to change based on unit need)
- Float to similar units may be required based on census
Clinical Scope
The unit manages a diverse general medical and telemetry population. You'll be expected to perform or assist with post-heart cath monitoring and bedside procedures including dialysis catheter placement, thoracentesis, and incision and drainage. Interdisciplinary support includes IV therapy, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response, and more.
Required Skills
- Central line and PICC line care/management
- Blood product administration and heparin protocols
- Dysrhythmia interpretation
- Pre/post hemodialysis management
- Continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, PCA management
- Wound care/wound vac, TR Band, port access
Requirements
- Active RN Tennessee license
- Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical Telemetry experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Electronic medical records proficiency (minimum 1 year recent experience) required
- Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
- First-time travelers considered based on experience
Pre-Assignment
Orientation begins on Mondays. Required pre-assignment modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials; up to 16 hours of module time is reimbursable.
