Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift | Maryville, TN

This inpatient unit specializes in stroke and TIA care while also managing higher-acuity medical-surgical patients. The team is strongly focused on delivering an exceptional patient experience in a collaborative, well-supported environment.

Shift & Schedule

  • Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • Contract options: 13 or 26 weeks
  • Start date: October 5, 2026

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

  • Adults and geriatrics
  • Diagnoses include: Stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, ia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post-cardiac catheterization, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
  • Procedures: peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
  • Float to other units based on census needs and demonstrated competencies

Required Qualifications

  • Active Tennessee RN license
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience (no first-time travelers)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry setting
  • Previous charge experience required
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (all required)
  • Electronic health record experience: minimum 1 year required

Key Clinical Skills

  • Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
  • Blood product administration, central line blood draw, PICC line management
  • Continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac
  • Heparin and insulin administration, cardiac drip management (no titration)
  • Substance withdrawal management

Orientation: 24 hours; pre-assignment modules required (up to 16 billable hours)
