Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift | Maryville, TN
This inpatient unit specializes in stroke and TIA care while also managing higher-acuity medical-surgical patients. The team is strongly focused on delivering an exceptional patient experience in a collaborative, well-supported environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Contract options: 13 or 26 weeks
- Start date: October 5, 2026
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
- Adults and geriatrics
- Diagnoses include: Stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, ia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post-cardiac catheterization, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
- Procedures: peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
- Float to other units based on census needs and demonstrated competencies
Required Qualifications
- Active Tennessee RN license
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience (no first-time travelers)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry setting
- Previous charge experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (all required)
- Electronic health record experience: minimum 1 year required
Key Clinical Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
- Blood product administration, central line blood draw, PICC line management
- Continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac
- Heparin and insulin administration, cardiac drip management (no titration)
- Substance withdrawal management
Orientation: 24 hours; pre-assignment modules required (up to 16 billable hours)
