Oncology RN — Night Shift | Fountain Valley, CA | 13-Week Contract

This 13-week contract places you on an adult/geriatric oncology unit managing a daily census of 21–26 patients. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
• Self-scheduling
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period
• No on-call requirement

Float Requirements

Candidates must be comfortable floating to Med/Surg, Med/Tele, ED, and Postpartum based on census needs.

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS
• Chemotherapy certification

Key Clinical Skills

• Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Port access and management
• Central line and PICC line care
• Blood product administration
• Telemetry interpretation and remote monitoring
• IV insulin and heparin protocols
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Tracheostomy care
• Wound care/wound vac
• Pre/post hemodialysis management

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Active California RN license required prior to start
• 1 professional reference within the past 2 years
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible

• Orientation is approximately 12 hours; non-billable online modules must be completed prior to start
