Med/Surg Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Greensboro, NC

This is a 26-week contract (no 13-week option). Nights, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, with every-other-weekend and holiday rotation.

About the Unit

The unit primarily serves an adult and geriatric Med/Surg patient population on a telemetry-capable floor. Travelers should be comfortable with a high-volume, interdisciplinary care environment supported by rapid response teams, respiratory services, IV teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, and social services.

Clinical Scope

  • Blood product administration
  • Peripheral line care, IV starts, and PICC line management
  • Heparin, insulin drips, and PCA management
  • BiPAP/CPAP and nasal cannula oxygen therapy
  • Wound care and wound vac management
  • Feeding tube and surgical drain care
  • Isolation precautions and PPE
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation / EKG competency
  • Use of rapid response and code teams
  • Colostomy/ileostomy care, oral suctioning

Scheduling & Float

  • Every-other-weekend requirement with holiday rotation
  • Charge RN shifts required as needed
  • Float across system campuses may be required

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • Prior Charge RN experience required
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • BLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Active RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Must pass an EKG compliance exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
  • No local candidates within 50 miles
  • No open background cases permitted
  • Requested time off must be submitted with the application

Vaccines: COVID-19 and flu vaccines required; medical/religious exemptions considered.
