Med/Surg Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Greensboro, NC
This is a 26-week contract (no 13-week option). Nights, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, with every-other-weekend and holiday rotation.
About the Unit
The unit primarily serves an adult and geriatric Med/Surg patient population on a telemetry-capable floor. Travelers should be comfortable with a high-volume, interdisciplinary care environment supported by rapid response teams, respiratory services, IV teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, and social services.
Clinical Scope
- Blood product administration
- Peripheral line care, IV starts, and PICC line management
- Heparin, insulin drips, and PCA management
- BiPAP/CPAP and nasal cannula oxygen therapy
- Wound care and wound vac management
- Feeding tube and surgical drain care
- Isolation precautions and PPE
- Dysrhythmia interpretation / EKG competency
- Use of rapid response and code teams
- Colostomy/ileostomy care, oral suctioning
Scheduling & Float
- Every-other-weekend requirement with holiday rotation
- Charge RN shifts required as needed
- Float across system campuses may be required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Prior Charge RN experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Active RN license in hand at time of submission
- Must pass an EKG compliance exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
- No local candidates within 50 miles
- No open background cases permitted
- Requested time off must be submitted with the application
