Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN — Travel Contract

Greensboro, NC | Days | 13-Week Contract

This telemetry-capable Med/Surg unit serves an adult and geriatric population across a broad range of diagnoses. While the unit is telemetry-equipped and EKG competency is required, the primary patient population is Medical/Surgical.

Shift & Schedule

• 3×12-hour days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required; holidays as needed
• Float may be required to other campus locations within the health system

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

• Observation, general medical/surgical, and surgical observation patients
• Respiratory conditions and management
• Palliative, end-of-life, and hospice care
• Psychiatric observation
• Diabetes management, including new diagnoses and complications
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Required Skills

• BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, PICC and peripheral line management
• Blood product administration, wound care/wound vac, surgical drains
• Feeding tube and colostomy/ileostomy care
• Pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure experience
• Use of rapid response/code teams; isolation precautions/PPE

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers welcome
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• No local candidates within 50 miles
• RTO must be submitted with initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
