Rehabilitation Nurse — Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility's inpatient rehabilitation department seeks an experienced RN for night shift work. You'll provide specialized care to patients recovering from stroke, aneurysm, brain injury, spinal cord injury, and post-surgical conditions, helping them regain independence and function.

Shift & Schedule

• 3×12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every 3rd weekend; holidays as needed
• 13-week contract
• Float required to other facility campuses as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year RN experience (no first-time travelers)
• Current, active nursing license
• BLS certification
• Current driver's license
• Must pass compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• Acute care rehab experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Manage patient loads of typically 6 patients (some rotating shifts may include 7 patients of equivalent acuity)
• Interpret lab results and reconcile medications
• Obtain patient histories, document allergies, monitor vital signs
• Perform dressing changes and set up sterile procedure trays
• Conduct phlebotomy, capillary draws, and urinalysis collection
• Handle telephone and pharmacy coordination
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, IV teams, and social services

Patient Population

Adult and geriatric patients with neurological and post-surgical rehabilitation needs.

Onboarding

24-hour orientation includes required compliance modules. Active license must be in hand at submission.
