Med Surg Tele

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN | Greensboro, NC | 13-Week Contract

This telemetry-capable Med/Surg unit primarily serves an adult and geriatric patient population across a broad range of medical and surgical diagnoses. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response, and social services.

Schedule

• Days, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Every other weekend required; holidays as needed
• Float to other campus locations when census requires

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

• General medical/surgical diagnoses
• Respiratory conditions and management
• Observation and psychiatric observation patients
• Diabetes management, including newly diagnosed and complex cases
• Palliative, end-of-life, and hospice care
• Pre- and post-operative surgical patients

Required Skills

• EKG/dysrhythmia interpretation and management (compliance EKG exam required during onboarding — two attempts allowed)
• BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, chest tube care
• Peripheral and PICC line management, IV placement
• Feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac, surgical drains
• Pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure experience
• Rapid response and code team utilization

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers welcome
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS required
• Previous charge RN experience preferred
• No local candidates within 50 miles
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
