Med/Tele RN — Travel Contract | Lufkin, TX

13-Week Contract | Days 7a–7p | Every Other Weekend

This rural acute care facility is seeking an experienced Med/Tele RN who thrives in a community-focused environment. Stable, long-tenured leadership supports a team that leans on travelers as an integral part of daily operations — making adaptability and a strong team-player attitude essential.

Unit Highlights

• Patient population includes CHF, diabetes, ia, CKD, and general med/surg telemetry cases
• Respiratory support includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow therapy
• Telemetry monitor techs are on unit; RNs are expected to independently read and interpret cardiac strips
• Heparin drip titration required; no other titration expected
• Charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators are available on shift
• PCT support is present

Schedule & Hours

• 12-hour day shifts, 7a–7p
• 36 guaranteed hours/week or 36/48 hours rotating bi-weekly
• Every other weekend required; holidays required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated — scheduling is manager-directed
• No call or standby required

Float & Coverage

Float within Med/Surg units; may float to PCU to cover telemetry holds awaiting transfer

Orientation

Two shadow/orientation shifts provided

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs

Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Tele experience
• BLS (AHA) required; ACLS preferred
• Rural hospital experience a plus
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Active Texas RN license required
