Labor & Delivery RN – 12-Hour Nights
Position Overview
Join the Family Birth Center as a Labor & Delivery RN on a 13-week contract. You'll work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with an every-other-weekend schedule and first-to-float responsibilities. Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
Unit Details
The Family Birth Center manages both low- and high-risk deliveries with comprehensive obstetric services. You'll care for patients across postpartum and labor & delivery areas, with access to operating rooms and a post-anesthesia care unit. An OB hospitalist is in-house 24/7, and respiratory therapy and pharmacy support are available around the clock.
Clinical Expectations
- Manage fetal heart monitoring and obstetric emergencies
- Complete a proctored dysrhythmia test on day one (pass/fail requirement)
- Float to pediatric patients (couplets) or NICU (feeders/growers only if you have prior experience)
Required Certifications & Licenses
- RN license (active)
- BLS, ACLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring (Advanced AWHONN)
- COVID vaccination required
Orientation & Support
Floor-specific orientation: 2–3 shifts depending on circulating experience. Circulating is not required. Clinical supervisors and team leads provide ongoing support.
Schedule Notes
Weekend requirement: 3 weekends per 4-week cycle (Saturday/Sunday days or Friday/Saturday nights). Peak census periods: July and October.
