Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit | Thornton, CO

Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13-Week Contract

This Progressive Care Unit in Thornton, CO offers a dynamic, team-oriented environment caring for a diverse mix of post-operative and cardiac step-down patients. The unit is newly built, featuring ADA/bariatric-equipped rooms and a collaborative culture with experienced staff.

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

• Post-op recovery for surgical, cath lab, ortho (spine, joint), gynecologic, and stroke patients
• Cardiac step-down care including post-PCI, post-pacemaker, ablation, cardioversion, and re-vascularization patients
• Management of chest pain, CIWA protocol, renal failure, and respiratory failure
• Cardiac drips at set rates; heparin titration included
• Telemetry and post-op monitoring throughout

Shift & Scheduling

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Modified self-scheduling with schedules posted three weeks in advance

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of current hospital PCU experience
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Colorado RN license (or compact eligibility)

Preferred Qualifications

• Cardiac care experience
• Collaborative, team-first approach with a friendly, outgoing personality
