Cardiac Operating Room Technician – CVOR

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: July 27, 2026

About the Role

The facility's cardiac operating room performs a full range of open-heart and thoracic procedures in a specialized six-OR surgical suite. You will work as a scrub technician supporting complex cardiac and thoracic cases with an efficient, high-acuity surgical team.

Procedures Include

CABG, valve replacement, VAD insertions, TAVR, VATS, lobectomy, pacemaker/AICD insertions, septal myectomy, Ross procedure, EVH, IABP insertions, femoral cannulation, and circulatory arrest cases.

What You'll Need

• CST and BLS certifications (required)
• Extensive CVOR scrub experience with a minimum of 2 completed travel assignments
• Advanced first assist experience and proficiency preferred
• Strong knowledge of cardiac and thoracic surgical instrumentation and case management

Unit Details

• All cases staffed with 1 scrub and 1 circulator; pump cases include a first assist/heart holder (RN or CST)
• Rotating on-call shifts
• Infrequent floating
• Hospital provides scrubs
• Efficient, high-volume surgical environment—not a training facility

Schedule & Commitment

• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• On-call rotation among staff
• 13-week contract
