Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) — Travel RN

Asheville, NC | 13-Week Contract | Days

This PICU position is based at an acute care facility in Asheville, NC, offering a high-acuity pediatric environment with a diverse and complex patient population.

Shift & Schedule

• Must work 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Contract duration: 16 weeks
• Start date: October 8, 2026

Unit Overview

The PICU manages critically ill pediatric patients requiring intensive monitoring and intervention. Nurses float as needed to Pediatrics and NICU.

Procedures & Clinical Scope

• IV starts and catheterizations
• Holding for lumbar punctures
• Central line dressing changes
• Hemodynamic monitoring
• Tracheostomy care
• Tube feeding and placement
• ICP monitoring
• Ventilator management

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience
• PALS certification required
• BLS required

Unit Support

• HUC available 9:00 AM–9:00 PM
• Tech shared with the unit
• Float requirement: Pediatrics and NICU
