Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) — Travel RN
Asheville, NC | Nights: 18:45–07:15 | 13-Week Contract
This travel RN opportunity is in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit caring for critically ill pediatric patients across a range of acuities, including stepdown-level cases. The unit supports a high level of clinical complexity, with a skilled, experienced team.
Shift & Scheduling
- Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Must work 3 weekends per 6-week schedule
- No self-scheduling
Clinical Scope
Procedures performed on the unit include:
- IV starts and catheterization
- Lumbar puncture assistance
- Central line dressing changes
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Tracheostomy care
- Tube feeding and placement
- ICP monitoring
- Ventilator management
Float Requirements
May float to Pediatrics and the NICU.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of PICU experience
- PALS certification required
Unit Support
A Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) is available on the unit during daytime hours, with tech support shared across the PICU.
Dress Code
All navy, all white, or navy pants with white tops.
