About the Unit
The facility's progressive care unit provides intermediate-level care for patients with neuro and trauma diagnoses. You'll manage acuity ranging from post-operative recovery to acute neurological changes, working alongside a collaborative team of nurses, CNAs, and charge nurses.
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
- Common procedures: neuro and spinal assessments, C-collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tubes, PCA pumps, lumbar drains, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions
- You'll perform frequent neuro checks, monitor for changes in condition, and provide comprehensive post-trauma and post-operative care
Requirements
- Current Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (required)
- Experience: Neuro and trauma care background is essential
- Shift Schedule: Every other weekend rotation
- Float Pool: May float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
