Progressive Care Unit — RN | Asheville, NC | Night Shift
This 13-week travel contract places you in a Progressive Care Unit managing neurological and trauma patients requiring close monitoring and skilled interventional care. Night shift runs 18:45–07:15, with guaranteed 36 hours per week.
Unit & Clinical Scope
The PCU focuses on neuro and trauma care, with a fast-paced clinical environment requiring confidence across a range of procedures, including:
- Neuro and spinal checks
- C-collar placement and TLSO brace management
- Chest tube and lumbar drain care
- PCA pump and IV infusion management
- Feeding tube placement
- Blood transfusions
- Tracheostomy care
Schedule & Float
- Night shift: 18:45–07:15
- Every other weekend required
- Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed
Required Certifications
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
Experience Requirements
- Neuro and/or trauma care experience is required; candidates without this background will not be considered
- Additional neuro/trauma experience is preferred
Additional Details
- Contract length: 13 weeks (start date August 17, 2026)
- Guaranteed hours: 36/week
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
Strong candidates will be team-oriented, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a high-acuity step-down environment with a collaborative nursing team.
