Orthopedics RN — Night Shift | Asheville, NC
This 13-week travel contract places you on a dedicated orthopedic unit in Asheville, NC, caring for post-surgical and musculoskeletal patients in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Every other weekend required
Clinical Scope
The unit manages orthopedic post-operative and rehabilitation patients. Common procedures include:
- Dressing changes and suture/staple removal
- Foley catheter insertion and management
- NG tube placement
- Wound VAC maintenance and removal
Mobility and fall-prevention equipment is integral to daily care, including continuous passive motion machines, patient lift systems, and bladder scanners.
Float Requirement
Occasional float to other Med-Surg units.
Required Qualifications
- Active North Carolina RN license
- BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior hospital-based nursing experience
- Orthopedic nursing experience
Dress Code
- RNs: Navy scrubs
