Orthopedic RN | Night Shift | Asheville, NC

This 91-week travel contract places you on a dedicated orthopedic unit managing post-surgical and acute orthopedic patients in a fast-paced inpatient setting. The unit operates with private patient rooms and a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required

Clinical Scope

The orthopedic unit provides care for patients recovering from joint replacement, fracture repair, and other musculoskeletal procedures. Common responsibilities include:

• Dressing changes, suture and staple removal
• Foley catheter insertion and management
• NG tube management
• Wound VAC maintenance and removal
• Use of mobility and transfer equipment (CPM machines, patient lifts, hover mats)

Staffing & Float

Float may be required to other med-surg units. Night shift staffing includes charge RN coverage alongside RNs, LPNs, and patient care technicians.

Requirements

• Active North Carolina RN license
• BLS certification (required)
• Prior hospital experience preferred; orthopedic experience a plus
