Respiratory Therapist – NICU/PICU

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for its neonatal and pediatric intensive care units. You will provide respiratory support to critically ill and extremely premature infants, as well as pediatric patients requiring advanced airway management and mechanical ventilation.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 4 days per week
• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• 13-week contract

Experience & Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in a Level 3 or higher NICU (or 1+ year PICU)
• First-time travelers welcome
• Pennsylvania Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required
• Current certifications: RRT, BLS, NRP, and PALS preferred

Clinical Scope

You will manage a full range of neonatal and pediatric respiratory care, including:

• Bubble CPAP, CPAP, and BiPAP setup and management
• Intubation assistance and extubation support
• Mechanical ventilation troubleshooting and weaning
• High-frequency oscillatory ventilation
• Nitric oxide therapy
• Airway management in high-risk delivery scenarios

Floating

You will float between neonatal and pediatric units based on facility census and acuity needs.

Additional Information

• Scrubs provided
• Approximately 40 hours of orientation
• PA fingerprints required; must be completed within 1 week of contract signing
• All time-off requests must be submitted at application; block scheduling is not available
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
