LTAC Med/Surg Telemetry | Night Shift | Travelers Rest, SC
This 13-week travel assignment places you in a long-term acute care Med/Surg Telemetry unit managing a complex adult and geriatric patient population. The unit operates at a high clinical acuity, caring for patients with diagnoses including stroke/CVA, CHF, pulmonary embolism, respiratory failure, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, renal failure, GI bleed, diabetic ketoacidosis, and more.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required; may vary based on unit needs
- Float to other qualified units as needed based on census
Clinical Skills Required
- Arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management
- Tracheostomy care, ventilator management, weaning, and suctioning
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management; 12-lead EKG acquisition
- IV vasopressors, insulin drips, anticoagulation, and antiarrhythmic therapy
- Complex wound care, ostomy care, tube feedings, and CBI
- Stroke scale assessment, procedural sedation monitoring, blood product administration
Requirements
- Active South Carolina RN license
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of experience in LTAC MS/Tele, MS, or PCU
- Electronic charting experience: 1 year minimum required
- First-time travelers considered based on relevant clinical experience
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
Orientation
- 24-hour orientation; begins on Mondays
- Pre-assignment modules required within 48 hours of contract start; up to 16 hours of module time is reimbursable
