Operating Room RN – Trauma & Surgical Specialties
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for night shifts in a high-acuity surgical environment. You'll work in a dynamic OR managing trauma, orthopaedic, vascular, neurosurgery, general, urologic, gynaecologic, and plastic/ENT cases.
Shift & Schedule
- Night 3x12-Hour: 18:45–07:15
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- On-Call Rotation: Distributed equally every 6 weeks (up to 6–8 shifts per cycle, including nights, evenings, and weekends)
- Float Assignment: Yes, you may be required to float between sister facilities within the system
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho
- BLS certification required
- Valid compact license at time of submission
- Travel experience preferred
- Willingness to work 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO (requested time off) must be submitted with your application
What You'll Do
Night shifts typically operate with 2 staff members—one RN (who may function as scrub) and one surgical technician. You'll support a trauma team on call and manage approximately 25 cases daily across multiple surgical specialties. A 40-hour orientation is provided.
