Psychiatric Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
Join the facility's psychiatric nursing team for a 13-week assignment working nights (19:00–07:00). This is a full-time role with 48 guaranteed hours per week, starting December 14, 2026.
Unit Details
You'll float across five psychiatric units serving diverse patient populations:
- Adolescent unit (ages 12–18)
- Adult units ranging from lower to higher acuity, including patients with thought disorders
- Senior lifestyle unit
Key Responsibilities
- Assess mental health status and recognize psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral issues
- Develop and implement individualized care plans with measurable goals
- Administer and monitor psychotropic medications; identify side effects and adverse reactions
- Provide crisis intervention using de-escalation techniques for patients experiencing suicidal ideation, aggression, or acute behavioral changes
- Use therapeutic communication to build trust and rapport
- Monitor vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects
Requirements
- Current BLS certification
- Active CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification required at time of submission
- Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications and psychotropic drug management
Uniform
Nurses wear blue scrubs.
Schedule
Night shifts, 7 days per week. Days off are not guaranteed unless specified in your contract.
