About the Unit
This Postpartum/Mother-Baby unit provides comprehensive care to postpartum mothers and newborns in a collaborative, supportive environment. The unit is staffed with experienced nurses across both floor and nursery settings, working alongside charge nurses and CNAs.
Clinical Scope & Procedures
- Vital sign monitoring and medication administration
- Perineal care and postpartum recovery management
- Newborn care and nursery support
- Parent education on newborn safety, care, and bonding
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital Postpartum/Mother-Baby experience
- Active RN license
- BLS and NRP certifications (required)
- Schedule flexibility and ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Prior Mother-Baby unit experience beyond general postpartum
- Strong communication skills with multidisciplinary teams
