Transplant Nephrology – Med/Surg Travel Nurse | Kansas City, MO

This 13-week contract places you on a dedicated Transplant Nephrology unit providing medical-surgical care to patients with complex renal diagnoses, including kidney transplant recipients. The unit is supported by a virtual nurse who handles patient admissions, allowing bedside nurses to remain focused on direct patient care.

Assignment Details

• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (4 x 12-hour days)
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week
• Start Date: December 14
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Scope & Patient Population

• Nephrology and post-kidney transplant patients
• Med/Surg acuity; dialysis is performed off the unit
• Staffed with unit secretaries (day shift), PCTs, and a unit educator

Scheduling Requirements

• Minimum 3 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements
• Agency/contract nurses float first per unit policy

Requirements

• ADN required
• BLS certification required
• Experience in med/surg, nephrology, renal care, or kidney transplant strongly preferred
• Dialysis experience a plus
