Stepdown Neuro Nurse – Day Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Stepdown Neuro nurse for a day shift assignment. You'll provide care to post-acute neurological patients in a progressive care setting, supporting their transition from intensive to intermediate care levels.

Schedule & Duration

• Shift: Day, 3×12-hour (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 5, 2026
• Holiday Requirement: Must work at least every other holiday

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 12 months permanent experience in your specialty. PCU/progressive care experience preferred but not required.
• Licensure: Permanent Ohio license or compact state license in hand at time of submission.
• Certifications: Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification required.
• Assessments: ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate assessments completed during orientation. You'll have two attempts to pass both; acceptable scores are required to continue.
• Background: No open background cases accepted. BCI/FBI prints must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing.

Important Notes

• Permanent and per diem employees cannot return to this facility for 1 year from their previous end date.
• Nurses are exempt from nicotine-free facility requirements. All other travelers must be nicotine-free with a negative 10-panel drug screen (including nicotine) required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
• One professional reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) from work completed in the past 12 months is required for submission.
