Position Details
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts plus three weekend shifts per schedule period
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: December 14, 2025
- Location: Kansas City, Missouri
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
The Role
You'll provide direct patient care on a dedicated orthopaedic and trauma unit. Your patients include post-operative orthopaedic cases (knee, hip, and shoulder replacements), trauma admissions, and occasional neuro overflow. You'll work with specialized equipment including traction systems, fixators, and cooling devices.
Responsibilities
- Deliver bedside shift reports and perform hourly rounding
- Collaborate with unit secretaries and patient care technicians
- Support a high-acuity ortho/trauma patient population
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Current BLS certification
- Orthopaedic experience preferred
- Telemetry and NIH stroke scale knowledge helpful
Floating
Contract staff float first to other medical-surgical units (general medical-surgical, nephrology, neuro/trauma) as needed.
