Med-Surg Registered Nurse | Overland Park, KS | 13-Week Contract
A Med-Surg unit in Overland Park, KS is seeking a travel RN for a 13-week contract beginning December 14. This is a day-shift position with 48 hours guaranteed per week.
Shift & Schedule
- 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM (4 x 12-hour days)
- 4 weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) per 4-week period
- 48 hours guaranteed
Unit Overview
This inpatient Med-Surg unit cares for a general acute care population. Nurses can expect a varied patient census with moderate-to-high acuity, including patients requiring lines, drains, wound care, and continuous monitoring.
Procedures Performed
- PIV insertion, management, and removal
- Central line management and removal
- Foley catheter insertion, management, and removal
- NG tube insertion, management, and removal
- Drain management and removal
- Wound care and ostomy management
- Continuous bladder irrigation
- Chest tube management
- EKG acquisition
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Prior inpatient acute care experience (required)
- Basic dysrhythmia recognition (required)
- BLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- Previous trauma center experience (preferred)
Dress Code
Royal blue scrubs; black pants permitted
