ICU Neonatal Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility's Level 2 NICU is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for night shifts (7 PM – 7 AM). This is a 13-week contract position. You may float to mother/baby units as needed.

Clinical Scope

You will provide routine and complex nursing care to neonates using the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. You'll manage increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness, documenting patient care, and educating families on learning needs and resources.

Requirements

  • RN license (Texas or compact state)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • 1+ year experience in neonatal or perinatal nursing preferred
  • Current STABLE certification (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) required
  • Current BLS certification (AHA) required
  • Current NRP certification required

Onboarding

New hires attend orientation within 30 days and are precepted by a designated staff member. You'll complete organizational entry competency validation and perinatal-specific competency validation. Annual competency verification is required.
