Medical Surgical – Telemetry | Night Shift | Belton, MO

This 13-week contract places you on a collaborative Med-Surg/Telemetry unit working 4 x 12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:00) with 48 guaranteed hours per week. The target start date is December 14.

Unit Overview

The unit cares for a general medical-surgical and telemetry patient population with a focus on coordinated, multidisciplinary care. Case management, PT, OT, and speech therapy are all based on the same floor, and daily multidisciplinary rounds keep care plans aligned.

Clinical Scope

Common procedures and monitoring include:

  • EKG and cardiac telemetry monitoring
  • Echocardiography (Echo, TEE)
  • EEG
  • Wound vac management
  • Glucometer testing
  • Post-operative general surgery care
  • Colonoscopy support

Schedule & Coverage

  • 4 x 12-hour nights | 48 hours guaranteed
  • 3 weekend shifts per month
  • No on-call requirements
  • Block scheduling available for travelers

Requirements

  • Active RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required

Dress Code

  • RN/LPN: Grey scrubs

What to Expect

Travelers receive a thorough orientation to unit policies and procedures. There are opportunities to precept and work alongside students. The unit fosters a supportive team culture with peer recognition programs and accessible provider relationships typical of a community hospital setting.
