Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Location: Elizabethtown, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3 days per week (12-hour shifts)

Schedule: Weekend and holiday rotation

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 5, 2026

About the Role

Join the nursing team on a busy medical-surgical/telemetry unit at the facility. You'll provide direct patient care to adults with a range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans using the nursing process
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously; identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips, per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Provide patient and family education on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge
• Document assessments, interventions, and responses accurately
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Typically manage 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity and staffing)

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (state or compact)
• ADN or ASN; BSN preferred
• BLS and ACLS certification
• 1+ years of medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a dynamic setting
