Emergency Room RN — Freestanding Emergency Department | Corpus Christi, TX
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (with potential for extension)
Start Date: September 14, 2026
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
This night-shift RN opportunity is based in a freestanding emergency department operating 24/7. The unit manages a broad range of emergency presentations, with an emphasis on rapid identification and intervention for sepsis, STEMI, stroke, and trauma patients.
Clinical Scope & Procedures:
- Splinting, wound care, and IV placement
- Medication administration
- Comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments
- Airway management and ventilator support
- Clinical oversight of EMT-Ps on shift
Required Certifications:
- BLS, ACLS, TNCC
- PALS or ENPC
- CPI or equivalent
What to Expect:
- Fast-paced, acuity-driven environment requiring strong critical thinking and a sense of urgency
- Collaborative team including RNs and EMT-Ps
- Float to other emergency departments within the system is uncommon, as units are typically staffed to core
- Every other weekend required; no on-call obligation
- Must clock out for meal breaks and any time leaving the building
Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs; no hoodies
Ideal candidates bring compassion, composure under pressure, and experience in high-acuity emergency care. Experience with airway management and ventilator support is a plus.
