Speech Language Pathologist – Dysphagia Specialist
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join the acute care team, specializing in adult dysphagia screening and modified barium swallow studies. You'll work with patients across the care continuum, providing direct assessment and therapeutic intervention for swallowing disorders.
Schedule & Details
- Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Start Date: September 8, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dysphagia screening and modified barium swallow studies
- Assess swallowing function in acute care adult patients
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Document findings and communicate recommendations to the interdisciplinary team
- Collaborate with nursing, nutrition, and medical staff on patient care decisions
Required Credentials & Vaccinations
- Current Speech-Language Pathology license (state-specific)
- COVID-19, MMR, influenza, hepatitis B, varicella, and Tdap vaccines
- 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot)
- Fit test and health statement
- Current driver's license
- Background check, employment verification, and education verification
This is a straightforward clinical role for an experienced dysphagia clinician ready to contribute to acute care outcomes.
