Progressive Care / Medical-Surgical Stepdown RN

Position Overview

The facility is seeking experienced RNs for night shifts in a medical-surgical stepdown unit. You'll provide care to diverse patient populations across multiple acuity levels, with opportunities to float within the stepdown setting.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (36 hours/week)
• Every other weekend
• Holiday rotation required: You'll work 1–2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) and winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day)
• No on-call obligations

Unit Details

• Patient Population: Medical-surgical stepdown; all patient types

• Clinical Skills: Experience administering and titrating nitro, heparin, and amiodarone required
• Dress Code: Black or navy scrubs

Requirements

• Minimum 36 months progressive care, stepdown, or medical-surgical nursing experience
• Active Iowa RN license or current compact/multistate license
• ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications
• Stepdown experience preferred
• Critical care, neurology, or oncology experience a plus

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 28, 2026
