Telemetry RN – Night Shift | Redding, CA | 13-Week Contract

This busy telemetry unit specializes in neurological and cardiac-medical patients, including those presenting with stroke, TIA, seizure, and traumatic brain injury. The unit runs a high-census environment with strong emphasis on stroke core measures, bedside shift report, and patient experience outcomes.

Shift & Schedule

  • 12-hour nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
  • Every-other-weekend requirement (Fri/Sat nights)
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • Self-scheduling by seniority; shift trades available
  • Schedules posted approximately 3 weeks in advance

Clinical Details

  • Common drips: Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, DKA protocol (set rate; no titration required)
  • Respiratory support: BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC (no ventilators)
  • Central telemetry monitoring supported by two Monitor Techs; RNs must independently read and interpret rhythm strips and pass a dysrhythmia exam
  • Charge nurse and resource/break RN on each shift; neither carries a patient assignment
  • 1–2 unit aides available per shift

Float Requirements

May float to the IMCU or Med/Surg departments

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of telemetry or neuro-tele experience preferred; first-time travelers considered
  • Active RN license
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • COVID vaccination required
  • Navy scrubs

Orientation

One unit-orientation shift provided

Contract Details

  • Duration: 13 weeks | Start: September 22, 2026
  • Cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts may be canceled over a 13-week contract
