Medical/Respiratory Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Tuscaloosa, AL
This 13-week travel contract is a night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) position on a Medical Respiratory unit specializing in the care of acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Candidates must be willing to float to other units and hospital locations.
Unit Overview
The unit primarily serves patients requiring treatment for ia, shortness of breath, COPD, and various other pulmonary conditions. The patient population also includes medical cases involving GI issues, diabetes, and occasional stroke and surgical patients. Daily interdisciplinary team rounds support patient care. The unit also encompasses a respiratory step-down area for higher-acuity respiratory patients.
Schedule & Hours
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 or 48 hours per week available (36 hours guaranteed)
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays required
Requirements
- Associate degree in nursing (minimum)
- Active RN license in Alabama or valid Compact license — no temporary licenses accepted
- AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (18 months may be considered if working at the highest professional licensure level)
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Respiratory specialty experience
