MS-Tele Float Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Med-Surg Tele float nurse for a 15-week night shift assignment. You'll work 12-hour nights (7 PM–7 AM) with 6–9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, providing care across multiple clinical units.
Clinical Scope
You'll float between General Med-Surg Tele and specialty units including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation. Patient populations include adults and geriatrics with diagnoses ranging from cardiac and neuro conditions to post-surgical cases (general surgery, gynecology, urology, ENT), renal disease, psych/detox, and stable long-term placements.
Key Details
- Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years MS-Tele experience; prior neuro experience preferred
- Clinical Responsibilities: Titrate heparin drips; collaborate with a designated charge nurse (who typically does not carry a patient assignment on nights)
- Support: Nurse aides and respiratory therapy available
Scheduling & Expectations
- Schedule set by leadership in 6-week blocks; flexibility required to fill gaps
- All time-off requests must be submitted before your start date
- You may be asked to float to ICU (low-acuity holds only), PCU/Stepdown, or other MS-Tele units based on need
- Rare on-call for low census situations
- Any color scrubs
- Hospital may cancel up to 3–4 shifts per assignment
Requirements
- Valid nursing license
- Willingness to relocate within a 60-mile radius
- Attendance during the week of orientation (in-state; first-day modules may be remote)
Contract Details: 15 weeks | 36 guaranteed hours per week | Start: September 28, 2026
