Emergency Room RN — Nights | Marshalltown, IA | 13-Week Contract

This emergency department cares for a diverse, high-acuity patient population including trauma, stroke, OB, and advanced cardiac cases. The team manages critical drips in a fast-paced environment that demands strong clinical judgment and adaptability.

Shift Details

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours/week
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Holiday rotation: expected to work 1–2 of the upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
• No on-call required; no blocked scheduling or mandatory 48-hour shifts

Scrubs: Navy, black, or gray — solid tops and bottoms

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of current, recent ED/Emergency Room RN experience
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multi-state license at time of submission
• Active BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA or ARC)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency)
• ED-specific skills checklist
• Driver's license on file

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Recent travel nursing experience
• De-escalation certification (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, or CPI) — can be obtained during onboarding
• NIH Stroke Scale certification — can be obtained during onboarding
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or manager within the past 24 months
