Medical ICU (MICU) – Travel RN | Rochester, NY

Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 15-Week Contract

This MICU role is ideal for an experienced critical care nurse comfortable managing high-acuity, medically complex adult and geriatric patients. The unit cares for a broad range of diagnoses including sepsis, ARDS, respiratory failure, renal failure, heart failure, multi-organ failure, DKA, CIWA, overdose, GI bleed, and post-cardiac arrest with targeted temperature management.

Shift & Scheduling

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• Float to other units as needed

Patient Care

• Supports advanced interventions including CRRT, IABP, Impella, and ECMO

Required Skills

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Arterial line and central line management
• Vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
• Ventilator, BiPAP/CPAP, and HFNC management
• IV sedation and continuous paralytic administration
• ABG interpretation, CRRT/CVVHD, pulmonary artery monitoring
• Massive transfusion protocol, stroke management, procedural sedation

Certifications Required

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of MICU experience
• Active New York RN license in hand at time of submission
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Electronic charting experience is a hard requirement
• Start date: September 29, 2026
