Operating Room – Surgical Services
Position Overview
The facility's main operating room is seeking experienced surgical nurses for a 14-week assignment. You'll work in a high-volume, multi-specialty OR environment managing adult and geriatric patients across general, neuro, spine, ortho, urology, vascular, and colorectal cases.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 4 x 10-hour shifts (06:30–17:00)
- Weekends: 2–3 per 8-week period (in-house or on-call)
- Call: 7–8 calls per 8-week period (mix of day and night shifts; 1 weekend call + 2–3 weekday night shifts)
- Contract Duration: 14 weeks
- Start Date: September 28, 2026
- Maximum RTO: 7 days (must be finalized at submission; no requests during orientation week)
- Blackout Dates: April 4–12 (Spring Break)
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year OR experience; first-time travelers welcome
- HARD STOP: Circulate and scrub experience required
- Current BLS certification
- GA or Compact RN license at time of submission
- Holiday work expected if major holidays fall during assignment
Clinical Scope
You'll circulate and scrub a broad range of procedures including craniotomy, spinal fusion (ALIF, XLIF, lumbar), joint replacement, robotic-assisted cases (orthopedic, urologic, gynecologic, colorectal), carotid interventions, and open/laparoscopic GI and vascular repairs. The OR runs 16 rooms with an average daily census of 35 patients.
Compliance
Full compliance (onboarding and documentation) required before start date. Two-week pushback may occur if documents are incomplete.
