Night Shift RN – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Unit
Position Overview
Join a busy medical-surgical unit as a Night Shift RN working 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15). This is a high-acuity environment where you'll care for patients with respiratory, cardiac, and complex medical conditions in a supportive, well-staffed setting.
Clinical Scope
The unit manages adults and geriatric patients with COPD exacerbations, ia, acute respiratory failure, pulmonary embolism, influenza, and post-COVID complications. Many patients require telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, or non-invasive airway support (CPAP/BiPAP). You'll care for chronic tracheostomy and ventilator patients—with a unit model ensuring no nurse carries more than one ventilator patient at a time.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (previous travel assignment required)
- Current ACLS and BLS; NIHSS preferred
- Strong skills: IV starts, ventilator management, dysrhythmia interpretation, CPAP/BiPAP, telemetry
- EKG testing required prior to start
- Ability to float to similar units
- Willingness to work every other weekend and occasional call

Contract Details
- 13–26 weeks available
- 24-hour orientation
- Up to 7 days pre-approved time off (no RTO first week or during major holidays; must work 2 of 3)
- Scrubs: white or navy blue (not provided)
Requirements
Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only). NC or compact license accepted.
