Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Nursing Position

Position Overview

Join the nursing team in a Progressive Care Unit providing intermediate-level acute care. You'll manage patients transitioning from critical care or those requiring close monitoring and frequent interventions.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (nights)
• Schedule: 4 x 12-hour shifts; every other weekend
• No call required
• Guaranteed: 48 hours per week
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a monitored, step-down environment
• Float to like units on campus or other campuses within Wichita as needed
• Perform EKG interpretation and monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on patient management

Requirements

• Current nursing license (verification via Nursys required)
• Valid driver's license/state ID
• EPLS (ACLS equivalent) certification
• Immunizations per facility requirements (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, influenza, TB screening)
• Fit testing and health statement completion
