Stepdown / IMU Nursing Position
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its Intermediate Care Unit (IMU). This 13-week contract offers 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) with weekends and holidays as scheduled (approximately every other).
Unit Details
All patients are on continuous telemetry; RNs interpret rhythm strips. Respiratory support includes BiPap and CPAP capabilities.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Titrate vasoactive drips: nitroglycerin (up to 150 mcg/kg/min), Neo (up to 100 mcg/min), and Cardene (up to 10 mg/hr)
- Manage complex post-operative and acute cardiac cases
- Provide direct patient care, assessment, and monitoring
- Collaborate with charge nurse and house supervisor as available
Requirements
- Current RN license
- ACLS and BLS certifications (NIHSS also required)
- Stepdown or intermediate care experience
- Ability to work every other weekend and holiday schedule
- No call or standby requirement
Logistics
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Float as needed
- Royal scrubs required; undershirts in white, royal blue, or black
- Charting via facility system
- Unit-specific orientation provided
- 2-shift cancellation policy per 13-week contract
